Master Robert's Tear of Joy - A one of a kind piece created as a fund raiser for medical research.

Tears of Joy!
Master Craftsman Robert Shield (http://studioroyal.com) has devoted over 25 years to spreading the ART of Glass Blowing around the world. He started his career and learnt his craft completing an 8 year apprenticeship with Saxon Glass in Australia. Since then he has taken his craft from Australia to China, Spain, Malta and the USA.
In 1980 he produced what was to be the first attempt to duplicate a human teardrop made of Glass.
It has become his trademark piece ever since.
Although Robert has produced glass masterpieces for international celebrities such as the Duke and Duchess of York (a beautiful glass Horse and Carriage for their wedding) and Sir Vince Fean, (British Ambassador to the Island of Malta) it is always his beautiful tear drops that create the most interest and excitement.
Robert has on two occasions nearly lost his father to Cancer (Colon in 1988 and Thyroid in 2004). In 1960, just before Robert’s birth his grandfather was taken with Cancer of the larynx. On each occasion his father, renowned author, broadcaster and archeologist Dr. Peter J. Shield PhD; thanks to major breakthroughs in medical treatment, survived and Robert and his family shared tears of joy.
It was these facts and the realization that we will loose over 40,000 to Breast Cancer, and over half a million to all other forms of Cancer here in the USA alone that has prompted Robert to take up the fight for the Cure!
With this press release Robert has committed to create 40,000 “tears of Joy” – the profit’s from which will be devoted entirely to fund raising for medical research.
